If you are a camper who likes to hike deep into the woods and set up camp and enjoy the lush greenery and peace of mind around you, then you are probably aware of the tools you may need to build yourself a base that will sustain you while you are relaxing in the woods. However, if you are a first timer and wish to get out of your comfort zone and try your hand at some trekking in a truly adventurous style, you need to make a checklist of what all you may need. Ideally you should speak to friends who have been camping before, so that you can learn from their mistakes.
The most important thing in your camping kit is your camping tools, you may carry your tent etc…but if you do not have the right tools, you may be able to set it up, but it will collapse on you even when a slight wind builds up. Deep in the woods you are going to have no one to help you and you have to rely on only the preparation you have made before you set out from the comfort of your home. Below is a list of five essential items that should be a part of your camping tools kit.
1) Saw / Axe: A saw and an axe are two important things that you should pack in your trunk when you take off camping. It can get pretty cold in the woods and you will have no source of electricity and therefore you will have to source and cut wood to make a fire in pure caveman style. The axe as well will help in putting together a fire that will last you through the night. Of course it is a great way to keep uninvited guests like wild animals away as well.
2) Protective Gear: Gloves and protective goggles can come in handy when you are cutting wood and therefore make sure a good pair of gloves and protective pair of goggle are a part of your tool kit.
3) Swiss Knife: A genuine swiss knife is the most handy camping tool equipment that you can carry around with you, while most of the constituents are tiny, they will help you when nothing else is around. Be sure that you purchase only a genuine multipurpose swiss knife and not one that will let you down when you need it the most.
4. Bungee Straps: If you plan on going trekking you will need bungee straps and these have to be extremely sturdy and of the best quality if you want to ensure that you do not fall and break a few bones while you are exploring the wild.
5. Shovel: You may also need a shovel to ensure that your tent is deeply rooted into the ground and for any other holes that you may want to dig up while you are camping.
There are a number of other tools like scissors, a torch light, safety pins etc. that you will need to carry along with you. If you plan to walk a lot make sure you have some trekking poles with you so that you do not exert yourself too much.
